Prime Minister Narendra Modi has begun a diplomatic journey that will take him to Nigeria, Brazil, and Guyana from November 16 to 21, 2024. The visit is aimed at strengthening India’s international partnerships and boosting bilateral cooperation in key sectors.

Nigeria: Strengthening Bilateral Ties Modi’s tour begins with Nigeria, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the African country in 17 years. During his visit, Modi will engage in talks to enhance strategic ties between India and Nigeria, focusing on sectors like energy, defense, and economic cooperation. India and Nigeria have been strong partners since 2007, with over $27 billion invested by Indian companies in the country. Modi will also interact with the Indian community residing in Nigeria.

Brazil: G20 Summit and Global Diplomacy From Nigeria, the Prime Minister will travel to Brazil to attend the G20 Summit on November 18-19 in Rio de Janeiro. Guyana: Strengthening Ties in Trade and Development The final leg of Modi’s tour will take him to Guyana, where the focus will be on enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in trade and developmental cooperation. This visit aims to fortify ties between the two countries, with a special emphasis on economic and cultural partnerships.
